Continued Professional Development Course: Parkour for School Teachers (Africa)
The Parkour for School Teachers CPD is designed to introduce sports teachers to the fundamental concepts and training principles of parkour for use as part of a physical education class in a manged school setting. It serves as an introduction and enables a sports teacher to initiate basic parkour training within a school environment.
This course is built around the principles of discovery, challenge and play. Spotting, use of equipment and health & safety are concepts taught troughout the course, as well as teaching styles encouraging student centred learning and process driven approaches.
The course lasts just one day, starting at 09:00 and finishing at 18:00. We ask that all candidates meet the following criteria:
18 years of age or over
Qualified School Teacher
If you cannot meet the prerequisite requirements at the time of the course, you must present evidence of having done so within 12 months of the end of your course in order to receive your certification.
Finally, we recommend having some experience of participation in sport or physical activity as there are some practical elements to the course.
